Bruks Siwertell has been awarded a contract for a new Siwertell ship loader by Sky Ports, Egypt, a division of the Sky Logistics Group. This ship loader will play a critical role in boosting Egypt’s cement export sector, serving essential markets across the Mediterranean, Africa, and other regions.
The Siwertell type-1B screw-type ship loader, with a capacity of 1,000t/h, will be deployed at a new multipurpose terminal in East Port Said. This terminal is designed to enhance the region’s economy while supporting its “green” port objectives.
Per Hansson, Operations Director at Bruks Siwertell, comments, “Siwertell technology is widely recognized for its outstanding environmental protection capabilities, as well as its consistent, efficient operational performance. This order represents a key step in our regional expansion strategy and highlights our commitment to growing our global presence, especially in Africa, where we are also set to deliver another ship loader in 2025.”
He continues, “We’re increasingly being involved in large-scale, regional infrastructure projects and have earned a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge over traditional suppliers. Our mobile solutions are also gaining traction in the cement and fly ash markets, indicating strong potential for future collaborations.”
Sky Logistics selected Bruks Siwertell due to its established reputation. The Siwertell ship loader offers a range of benefits, including fully enclosed, dust-free cement handling, low power consumption compared to alternative technologies, high operational efficiency, and fast vessel turnarounds. Its versatile screw-type conveyor system operates at various inclines and angles, allowing it to serve different bulk carrier types, including open hatch vessels of up to 60,000 dwt.
Scheduled for delivery in late 2025, the ship loader will be assembled onsite. It will feature a tripper system integrated into the jetty conveyor gallery, along with advanced digital technology such as the Siwertell SmartView IIoT tool for real-time operational monitoring. A comprehensive five-day training program will also be provided for operators.
