Haikou-based Central Airlines has strengthened its cargo capabilities with the addition of a Boeing 777 freighter, expanding its fleet to 11 aircraft, including six 777Fs and several converted 737 freighters.
The newly leased 777F, delivered earlier this month, will support Central Airlines’ European hub operations, enhancing the airline’s long-haul cargo efficiency and operational flexibility. According to Planespotter data, the airline now operates two 737-300 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft, four 737-800 P2Fs, and six 777Fs.
Since joining the fleet, the 777F has been flying between Chengdu (CTU) and European destinations including Prague (PRG) in the Czech Republic and Katowice (KTW) in Poland. Tie Gong, Head of Network and Planning at Central Airlines, commented on LinkedIn:
“The Boeing 777F brings modern efficiency, extended range, and proven reliability, perfectly aligning with KTW’s role as a 24/7 cargo hub at the heart of Europe.”
Central Airlines has been actively supporting global logistics partners with its 777F operations. In May, the airline launched flights from Tianjin (TSN) to East Midlands Airport (EMA) in the UK on behalf of Chinese logistics express firm YunExpress, with return services to Xiamen (XMN). In total, Central operates two 777Fs for YunExpress.
Additionally, last year, the airline began operating two 777Fs for DHL Express, supporting the German logistics giant’s expansion of its China network.
Today, Central Airlines serves more than 40 domestic and international cargo routes, and the addition of the 777F fleet is expected to enhance both capacity and reliability for its long-haul operations.
