Bruks Siwertell has secured a significant order for a Siwertell ship loader from Sky Ports, Egypt, part of the Sky Logistics Group. The ship loader will play a vital role in supporting Egypt’s cement export industry, catering to key markets in the Mediterranean, Africa, and beyond.
This screw-type Siwertell 1B ship loader, with a rated capacity of 1,000t/h, is destined for a newly developed multipurpose terminal in East Port Said. The terminal is part of a broader initiative to stimulate regional economic growth and align with Egypt’s “green” port goals.
“Siwertell technology is known for its strong environmental credentials and its reliable, efficient performance,” said Per Hansson, Operations Director at Bruks Siwertell. “This order represents a key milestone in our expansion strategy for the region, reaffirming our commitment to growing our global presence, particularly in Africa, where we have another ship loader scheduled for delivery in 2025.”
Hansson added, “We’re increasingly being called upon for large-scale regional infrastructure projects. Our reputation for providing high-quality, dynamic, and tailored solutions offers our customers a competitive edge against established suppliers. Additionally, our mobile solutions are seeing greater demand in the cement and fly ash sectors, indicating strong potential for future collaborations.”
Sky Logistics selected Bruks Siwertell for its proven reliability. The Siwertell ship loader offers numerous advantages, including fully enclosed, dust-free cement handling, low power consumption compared to alternative technologies, high operational efficiency, and quick vessel turnarounds. Its versatile screw-type conveyor system can operate at various inclines and angles, making it suitable for a wide range of bulk carriers, including open hatch vessels up to 60,000 dwt.
The ship loader will be assembled on-site and is expected for delivery at the end of 2025. It will feature a tripper arrangement integrated into the operator’s jetty conveyor gallery and will incorporate advanced digital technology, including the Siwertell SmartView IIoT tool for enhanced operational monitoring and support. A comprehensive five-day training program will also be provided.
