Ghanaian Private Airline Set to Launch This Year

Relax Airlines, a new private airline in Ghana, is in the process of obtaining an Air Operators Certificate and is preparing for its launch later this year.

The airline announced that it has secured an Air Carrier Licence and is currently in the fourth phase of applying for the Air Operators Certificate, with the next step being the demonstration and inspection phase.

“Relax Airlines is a Ghanaian airline designed to fill a gap in the domestic and short-haul aviation sector, catering to local, regional, and international markets. There is a specific demand for scheduled commuter flight services from Accra,” the airline stated.

The airline plans to operate domestic routes connecting Accra to Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, and Wa. Regionally, it aims to fly to destinations such as Lagos, Abuja, Freetown, Abidjan, Conakry, and Dakar.

In addition, Relax Airlines will provide charter services between Accra and Hamburg, as well as Accra and London.

Samuel Wesley-Kirkman, Accountable Executive at Relax Airlines, confirmed that the airline is on track to begin operations later this year.
